Global Military Aircraft Systems (GMAS), a joint venture company
of L-3 Communications' (NYSE:LLL) subsidiary, Integrated Systems
and Alenia North America, Inc. (a Finmeccanica company) will open
an office in Perimeter Corporate Park in Huntsville, Alabama, the
home of U.S. Army PEO Aviation.
The office at 1525 Perimeter Parkway, Suite 150, will serve as
the program office for the C-27J aircraft which GMAS will submit as
a solution for the U.S. Army's Future Cargo Aircraft (FCA) program.
The office is in close proximity to Redstone Arsenal and will serve
as the focal point for the all the joint venture's Army Aviation
programs. GMAS General Manager Howard Yellen will head the office
when he joins the team in mid-November. GMAS Deputy General Manager
Stan Yackel will also be located at the Perimeter Corporate Park
address.
The Huntsville location was chosen as part of GMAS' "customer
first" philosophy and will facilitate immediate access and
responsiveness to customer needs.

GMAS is offering the C-27J Spartan aircraft to the Army for its
Future Cargo Aircraft program and will also pursue other
opportunities requiring the use of a medium-range military airlift
vehicle. The Future Cargo Aircraft program is a key component in
the Army's transformation of its fixed wing fleet and will fill the
capability gap in joint aerial delivery systems. The FCA selection
is currently planned for FY06, with contract award in early
2007.
